It’s so important to have a personal relationship with Christ. And I know everyone says that… but it really is! All you have to do is believe in God and his saving grace to go to heaven, but life is so much easier when you have a personal relationship with God. So I challenge you to grow closer to God, every single day. He wants to grow closer to you!

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

A strong relationship with God isn't always the same as having a close relationship with God. I can pray and read my Bible but its not always with an open heart to really hear His message for my life. I truly experience peace and happiness when I make time for God and am not rushed. His peace and love and hope and joy come when we are talking to Him. And when that is happening it is so much easier to hear Him. Growing closer to God is a privilege and a benefit that we as Christians have. Christ wants us to talk to Him; He has all the time in the world for us. But like a parent, He is giving us space, letting us learn for ourselves that we need Him to succeed.

James 4:8a

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Just like human relationships; if we don’t communicate and spend time together our relationship will dwindle. And I know I’ve said it before, but God is the most important relationship we can have because from God comes all of our blessings, all of our interactions, and all of our love. How can we love and put others first if we aren’t putting God first?

1 John 4:7

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Christ laid himself down for us. He knows us inside and out and He desires for us to know Him in the same way. God has given us the means to do that, through the Bible and prayer! What a blessing it is to have a deep, intimate relationship with the One who loved us so much that He died for us!

Romans 5:8

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
